    ... the season, decorated with corn stalks, pumpkins, gourds, flowers, stuffed mannequins and bales of hay. It’s really quite delightful and it happens everywhere I’ve travelled in the states. I’ve learned to watch for that.

    ... but they weren't open until 10:00am; glad I didn't, as this is really a walking city.

  • Outdoor concerts & street performers everywhere.
  • Took in a movie at an old, restored movie theatre to end the night. Saw "Skeleton Twins" - loved this movie - well done, powerful, emotional.
  • 47 miles.
  • Will wake up in the morning (Sunday), hit my favorite cafe, and figure out where to next!!! ...

    Woke up not-too-early with the intention of heading to Asheville by noon, but decided to divert my route and take the Blue Ridge Parkway through the mountains - a good choice! Made it to Asheville by dusk.

    As with most National Park this one contains a small visitor center, a movie and a short hiking trail through the restored buildings of Bookers birthplace.
