    ... as we traversed Canada and Michigan; many as we drove along. Fellow campers I meet along my route are curious about my traveling alone and how that is working out for me. Basically, it was a choice between staying home or traveling alone – and I wanted to travel. It's not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

    ... campground we were treated to a visit by a Chocolate Lab who was taking a bath in the lake. The water was chilly but he didn't mind. We wish that Riley could have come on the road with us, and we talk about getting another dog. But we want to get a little more comfortable with traveling before we introduce another family member. And we need to make sure there is enough room in the camper for three of us!

    Arrived at the MIdland airport (yes its changed a bit over the years) and picked up our rental car. The agent at Budget was very excited to give us this "beautiful VW Beetle". Beautiful might be pushing it but it is a fun car (once we figured out how to open the trunk...) I'll post pics on Thursday...
