    ... we stop at a rest area to go for a walk in the desert and take water but don't have any sunscreen. I'm a bit worried that it seems there are no set paths so we may get lost but Peter says of course we won't and we do come across a marked trail. The Artillery Range is Federal Land that’s open the year around except for when the Army is playing with their guns… the range must be 18 – 20 sq miles… A fair size piece of real estate… Also in the off season it’s an open range where cattle are ranged on the land.
