After a 3 hour flight and, you guessed it, more food (this time "lunch" - bearing in mind it is only 8.30am in the morning in Perth), we arrived in Wellington. We went through customs at which point Natalie received a formal warning from the New Zealand Government for not having declared that she had hiking boots in her luggage. The nice customs people even cleaned her shoes as part of the formal warning process!!!! Oops. We then went to find our hire car. The Apex Rental company collected us...

... went for just an hour but we really worked our arms out!
Later that afternoon we went to see the second Twiligh movie: NEW MOON! We all loved it. Danny's friend from work (who actually has the biggest crush on her) bought us our rickets online. Apparently when you go to a movie here, it's smart to buy the tickets online because seats are assigned in the theaters instead of first come first serve like in America. We ...
... Around 6ish we headed back to Plimmerton where we were staying and bought some fish and chips for dinner and then chilled out in the lovely front room at the lodge with views overlooking the sea, watching the sun go down.
A good nights sleep was had in the lovely double bed they provided. This lodge has to be the best accommodation we have stayed in so far in.....we were disapointed to leave.
Hi all,
Well after our last installment we took a daytrip to Milford Sound, this is a parting in the mountains where you take a cruise out to the Tasman Sea, past vast waterfalls and huge mountains. The scenery is amazing, we even saw a penguin and seals bathing on the rocks. It was a lovely day for it too suprisingly, very hot even though to get there we were driving through Glaciers and big signs saying no stopping around this area AVALANCHES lol! We stopped in Te Anau as ...
Weather: grey grey grey
Mood: excited, almost can't stand it, despite the weather
Today is all about preparation (for me) and just making it through the last workday of the week (for Steve and Ange). We've booked a place wine country in Martinborough. We're going to be touring vineyards and tasting wines on Saturday morning and early afternoon. Then I'm going to fling myself out of a plane at 12,500 ft. around 4 p.m. that day ...
... see the sea and the reef beyond the Muri lagoon. I'm pinching myself and again thinking I have such a tough life! Although it was very sad to say goodbye to my second family, there were tears as I pushed my cart through Wellington airport, it's pretty amazing being in a tropical island. I have two weeks here to write, chill, snorkel, swim, cycle, walk and explore, before heading to LA. Me thinks that is going to be a major shock and contrast to Island time.
... Oh noooo...." i think to myself... I am supposed to take the ferry the very next day... and I don't do rocking boats very well..... I cross my fingers.... We then head to Te Papa museum: a really great museum in Wellington with everything there is to know about the Kiwi culture, geography, geology (great stuff about the volcanoes in New Zealand... fascinating), history, nature etc... all of this in fun packed interactive activities! Jo and I even go ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand kikiblogtrot... took Millie with us. She might be a small dog but she's not scared of taking on the big dogs lol. After a bit of a stroll we walked down to the sea front to meet Geoff (Kelly's ex) to pick up Rusty his dog. Kelly has arranged for Geoff to take us out in his boat for the day and stay over on the boat for a night. Kelly is going to put Rusty in to doggy day-care with Millie in the morning so we can all stay overnight on the boat. We went for ...
Dimecres XVIII ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand mariaandeva... cool some are even quite good - even if I do say so myself. I spoke to Matthew today too, it was really nice to speak to him, he's considering coming out in September when the lease is up on his apartment, it'll be nice if he does. I am hoping to do the Writers Walkway down on the quayside tomorrow, the one in the Billy Connelly programme so I hope it is easy to find the quotes, I also need to sort out my onward travel arrangements.
