After what felt like a relatively short 4-hour drive from Ottawa, Toronto came into view ahead of us. It appears that the most large cities across the US and Canada have either a bridge or section of raised motorway on the city limits. Each one you arrive at gets announced from this raised platform in spectacular fashion! Toronto is Canada's largest city and it certainly feels like it as you approach the impressive looking cityscape and head towards the centre.
Last month the TNC ladies organised a tour of the Kortright Centre for Conservation which is just outside of Toronto as it is the season for the gathering ( harvesting ) of maple syrup. Maple syrup and the leaf are a huge part of Canada's identity. The maple leaf is on the Canadian flag, the Toronto Ice hockey team is called the Maple Leafs, it is the symbol for Air Canada and is on the Royal Standard of Canada.
... woman, who sat between Cindy and Dorothy. When I heard the flight attendants ask if there was a Doctor on board, I had to wonder if it was for this woman. Sure enough, it was. She was unresponsive for a few minutes, but finally woke up, fortunately. That would have been an awful experience for Cindy and Dorothy, had she not come to.
