... We didn't stop at Invercargill as time was getting on but it looked like the biggest town we had seen so far in NZ. From there we took the coast road to Curio Bay, which although scenic was a gravel road for 14k so made slow travelling. Curio Bay is spectacular and you are meant to be able to see dolphins, sea lions and penguins there but we didn't catch sight of any of these yet.
