People - The people are very friendly and curious about foreigners. However, they will not speak slowly, even if you ask. Poverty is still a big issue in Sao Paulo. I did not see as much as I thought I would, but then again I'm in an affluent area.

It was quite an early check in but in fairness to the hostel they gave us a bed anyway and allowed full check in.
