Great little place 5 mins walk from main area. Lovely hosts but very expensive stay and they only take cash, no credit cards.

Today we hiked from the main bay of Ilia Grande round to Lopez Mendez beach on the other side of the island. The hike took us about 3 hours and went via 3 other amazing beaches on the way, as well as high up through the jungle to some amazing viewpoints. When we made it to Lopez Mendez we went in the sea and had a picnic and then spent the afternoon lying in the sun. ... great. We turned up and the atmosphere was amazing. Just four men, a little microphone and some mood lighting and they sounded incredible. I loved it. The only problem was I think we arrived for the last song because we only saw about 5 minutes!! After that they finished! I think they'd got their times translated a little wrong. Luckily on day 2 Jo was feeling better and it was SUNNY!! So we set off on a walk to one of the island's famous beaches, Lopes Mendes.
