Great little place 5 mins walk from main area. Lovely hosts but very expensive stay and they only take cash, no credit cards.

We were sad to say goodbye to Rio but excited to go to a place completely different from the cities we have seen so far. The journey was a four hour bus ride to the port and then a further 45 minute boat ride across to the little island of Ilha Grande, and we knew nothing of what to expect, only that it was a highly recommended place to visit. This morning was spent wandering around Paraty, doing a bit of shopping and generally relaxing! Mine are blue with cupcakes on and I customised them with a sparkly Brazilian flag and a sparkly turtle, so they are now one of a kind! After picking I pour laundry and finishing packing, we ...

The next day Casey and I went on a hike (3 hours round trip) to the Cachoeira da Feiticeira (Witch Waterfall); although we had forgotten ...

Not at all to say I wasn't having a good time but I would have loved a few extra days at the ranch in Uruguay and in Paraty before packing up and marching on! This time it was a 2 hour bus ride followed by a 2 hour ferry. ...

... decided to head out into the village to find some nightlife. Each of the hostels in the village takes it in turns to host a party each night. It’s a bit of an unofficial thing mind so we had to hunt for where the party was at. Third time lucky, we found the party which was really fun! Watching the local girls twirk and samba dance was a highlight but they were outdone by the 3 dogs who were dancing with us! Dudes. The next day, a little worse for wear, Chris and I set off ...
