      ... on the beaches at night and drank too much retsina one night and missed going out to the island Thassos which is just off the coast from here because we weren't feeling too good in the morning!

      There is a well preserved acqueduct in the town and a huge city wall and fort on top of the hill, overlooking the port and fishing boats. Again there are lots of cafés and delicious cake shops!

      ... and men must wear long pants. There were some very serious looking nuns at the entrance so there was no arguing with them. The convent and buildings date back to the 16th century, and are all stunningly beautiful, with roses and gardens within the walls. Supplies were brought in via a basket and pulley system.
