So we arrived in Palenque and to my surprise it was actually warm which was a shock to the system but still no sunshine!! I thought by now I would have been tanning nicely but oh no, all me and Hilary need/want is a suntan! Palenque is on the Central America backpacker route for the national park which includes Mayan ruins and beautiful waterfalls.

Visited the UNESCO listed Mayan archeological site of Palenque located in the middle of this dense rainforest. Only a fraction of the buildings have been restored from the incursion of the rainforest. It was our first wet day and we walked through rain all morning.
