We were picked up at 8am to make our way to Palenque Ruins, it was already sweltering even at that early hour. The park was really beautiful and you could climb right up to the top of most of the temples, so we got some really good views, though I'm sure we'll be feeling our legs tomorrow! We got to go inside the Temple of the Red Queen and see her tomb, it was pretty spooky. We then went to the Mayan Palace which had it's own tower and White House, all the ceilings were so low, ...

So our plan to leave at 5am and visit the waterfalls and Palenque ruins was disrupted by a political road block! Luckily the bus company knew about it though, so we took a detour through the mountains which had some pretty epic scenery. ... Carmen - back to where I started 70 days ago (so scary!!!). So happy that we got our own flat, knowing what hotel Cocodrilo looks like......We picked up the keys and we walked to our home for the next 5 nights! The apartment was beautiful - definitely one of my better finds! We quickly dropped our bags and headed to Playa Scuba to confirm our booking for tomorrow. As soon as we got there, I saw the board and didn't see ...

First full day

... full. We ended up sitting in 3 groupings of 4, 5 and 3 around 7. The food was amazing, and I would eat there again. Stacie and I were at the table of 5, and the service was ok. nothing special. I got my main course wrong, but it tasted fine. The other tables had nothing but issues. Long story short, most of them wont go back. Excellent food, horrible service (consensus). one table walked out, as there order was wrong, and then got asked ...
