... inside. This property is breathtaking. There is something exquisite to look at in every direction. The hallways that run along the whole perimeter of the temple of the emerald Buddha are painted to tell a story. The mural is painted in tones with bright gold accents to depict expensive outfits and the gods. The architecture of every single building on the property is so delicately finished with the most colorful tiles and trim. There are statues everywhere you ...

... walk alone in late evenings, invariably makes you feel a little bit uneasy at the back of your mind. There are some streets that are really lonely and pass through residential area. Once or twice, I felt like I should just get a cab or a tuk-tuk and make it easy on myself. After, realising I'd not ...

... Embassy there. Those amongst you who are observant will notice from the pictures below which we took just opposite his flat, here in Thailand, a couple of days ago that we are standing in front of the British Embassy grounds. So the logic fails me as to why it is necessary to fly for about two and a half hours to Singapore to sort out a visa needed for here when there is a perfectly good embassy all of 500 yards away. However, we have been left ...

... 163;4! We bought a bowl of local fruit which we munched our way through including Pomelo, Pineapple, Papaya, Banana, Mango, Dragonfruit and Starfruit before heading back on the bus towards Kanchanaburi. Here we visited and walked over the 'bridge over the river Kwai' built by mainly British and Dutch prisoners of war in WW2. There was a small museum and just outside the town a cemetery and memorial for the people that died building the bridge in such a short space of time as ...
