    ... the Castle View Apartments. We got a bit of direction from the parking attendants, who were nice, but unfortunately wrong. We found an Information office and asked for directions. They helped us out and we discovered we were on the wrong side of the river and had to ask another information office for a map. So we walked to the other side of the river, found the real information office and found our apartment.

    ... to Cesky Krumlov was somewhat exciting because Austria was experiencing its first snow of the season and the roads were messy and slippery. Most of the drive was not on the highway, so we were able to enjoy watching the pastoral countryside being covered in a blanket of white. There is no direct train service from Vienna to Cesky Krumlov, so these shuttle services have sprung up to serve the tourist need.

    ... exchange students from New York while consoling our anxiety with an extremely well-earned beer. As it turned out, the storm that nearly turned our peaceful meander down the river into a reenactment of "A Perfect Storm" was content to linger over Cesky Krumlov for the rest of the day.
