One of the nice things about this trip is that on our travels from one place to another the bus rride is punctuated with interesting stops, so that we get a chance to stretch and learn. Our first stop was at the REAL Budweiser brewery. The tour was OK, but many of our group really enjoyed. We had a taste of beer at 10 AM, not my usual routine! Next we stopped in the town of Trebon where we learned about the fishponds built in ...

We love this resort so much that we decided to stay another day and night. The photos of Pocatky were taken from a 16th. century bell tower. We were inside at 12 noon but the bells didn't ring. Thank goodness.

Photo of the time keeper's "nest" are included.

      We both had massages today.

Left our Prague apartment this morning and drove to this fitness resort. Foot massage for 2 (that's people not feet) at 6 PM. Horseback riding at 10 AM, full body massage at 2 and Jacuzzi at 7:30 tomorrow. We should really be relaxed by Tuesday!!

      Great weather, great time.

... the steps were tiny and very steep, but by the time I reached the top the view was fabulous! I hope you like the photos this is one of the prettiest towns I have ever stayed in.

We went to dinner in the square and the town was nearly deserted, the restaurant had an extensive menu and although it was in English as well as Czech, I ordered a salad which turned out to be mixed vegetables of peas, carrots, potatoes, beans and was ...

... a well. Dan says it was delicious. Trebic is our overnight stop. We are staying in a UNESCO protected Jewish Quarter which dates from the 1300s. Christians and Jews lived together in Trebic until 1727 when the ruler ordered that the Jews build a separate settlement in the space between the river and the cliff face. There was a vibrant Jewish community until the Nazis deported the entire population to Auschwitz. After the war, 10 Jews returned. The community ...
