... onions and a small pint of Pilsner. We then took a walk through the beautiful Botanical Gardens along the Mlynska Stream on one side and the old city wall on the other. We had a lovely dinner at the U Andela restaurant. Jack had a salad while Deb tried a chicken breast with stewed plums.

We both liked Olomouc and would recommend it to others. It has a historic charm, but it is also a city and people go about their business. The people are friendly and helpful, but it's not overly ...

This morning we walked to St Wenceslas Cathedral, Our Lady of the Snows church- stencilled columns & Rococco decorations. There seemed to be a farmers market but was a rally of cars from the 1920s with the owners dressed the part with a band singing jazz numbers. Huge fun!! We are currently on the train to Budapest so more later. ...

There are many historical sites in the Czech Republic. Sometimes it feels like every building I pass has a historical marker on it, and the cobblestones are a constant reminder of the past. I have been significantly impressed by some of the smaller touches of history; on several streets there are golden cobblestones engraved with the names Olomoci Jews who died in concentration camps. They are called ...
