My German was never my forté (!) and time and retirement have merely enhanced my amnesia. I picked up the gist of his instructions and passed them on in pidgeon Germanic English.

Walking in a winter wonderland

It's snow time
Sunday 28 October Achenkirch 3-4" of snow overnight leaving a Christmassy landscape. After a home-made breakfast we ventured out of the hotel and headed off into the village centre of Achenkirch, 2 kms down the main road. The roads were clear, but no obvious sign of footpaths under the snow. We finally picked up a local road that led us into the village.
