    ... performance from the Vienna Boys Choir. The evening programme concluded with Johann Strauss's Radetzky March.

    We are now fans of classical music and have purchased CD's of the Vienna Palace Orchestra performing Mozart and Strauss.

    Our coach ride back to the ship gave us the opportunity of seeing Vienna by night which was very beautiful.

    We stay overnight in Vienna and tomorrow we visit the Schonbrunn ...

    ... first location took us via the underground up to the Schönbrunn Palacee, here we got both the opportunity to have a look around the expansive gardens and also check out some of the Christmas trinkets on offer. At this market we didn’t partake in any of the famous gluewein as it was still a bit early we thought however we did have a taste of some of the delicious cheeses and dips available.

    The driver took us along the Ringstrasse, a circular road surrounding the inner district of Vienna. The street was built to replace the city walls, which had been built during the 13th century and funded by the ransom payment derived from the release of Ric*************heart of England.     In 1723 Emperor Charles Vl decided to have a court library built. The collection in this library now amounts to over 2.5 million books and manuscripts spanning several centuries. Original manuscripts in the music collection include Mozart's Requiem and Richard Strauss's opera Der Rosenkavalier. Such a beautiful building in the Baroque style!
