... taxi when we exited. No customs! A quick ride maybe 20 minutes brought us to central Vienna and our hotel - Alma boutique hotel. Our room is quite spacious for Europe. There is a lovely jetted tub in the room with a separate large walk in shower, at least a queen sized bed very comfy, a futon couch and lots of cupboards. We are on the 7 th floor and from here there is access to the roof top terrace which is small but has lovely views over the roof ...

The Austrian man beside me and I immediately looked at each other and shook our heads. Not really, but I tried to convince myself I was having fun, just to show that guy that I didn't know and would never see again that I did not need his maze.

... or as Brian calls it, butterfly hell). It was about 28 degrees Celsius outside and about 39 degrees Celsius with high humidity inside. Even Christine, who loves the heat, was dripping sweat and running for the door after about 15 mins. Brian bailed after about 2 mins. There were not enough butterflies to justify either the cost or the discomfort. Oh well. From there, we headed across the ring road to the Natural History museum to take pictures of rocks and meteorites for ...

... start with the room itself that holds all the books is completely something else. It has gorgeous rich wooden panels lining each and every wall and bookcase, there are then the incredible and intricate paintings that cover every inch of the roof, including the domes. Then there are the banisters that run around the room halfway between the floor and the roof creating a second floor that are incredibly detailed and carved from wood and topped off with gold. Then from ...
