Day trip to witch town

A travel blog entry by northernjane

... left of the period (1650's) when they dunked witches.  Got back on train and went to the end of the line to Rockport (30 min journey) a very pretty old fishing town now taken over by local artists.  Had a lobster lunch - something I'd been thinking about for a while and wandered round the shops and the beaches. We stopped at Quanapowitt Lake for a bit to watch the picnickers and boater and then home ...

Most of us didn't mind, we just wanted to get to our destination. But I guess they didn't want to risk ...

The ever growing gear list...

A travel blog entry by pctforals

Step one: the tools of the trade.

I have a long way to go -- both in figuring out how to stay warm and how to pack lighter. But here it is: my tentative gear list. As an "ultralight" hiker, I'm always trying to go lighter. With that said, going light requires a certain loss of comfort (sometimes...usually...) and an apparent rise in cost. I haven't purchased ...
