... the bridges before I got off at Westminster Bridge. I recommend the trip to any London visitors. Such a lot to see and it shows London really is a river city and the commentary was rich in historical and current detail. A last thought. As we were travelling upriver quite a bit of seaweed (yes, seaweed - not river weed) was floating past. It's a wide river but still very tidal maybe 40 km from the sea.
London, England, United Kingdom daviddx...
London, England, United Kingdom betuca... Greyhound were bad enough then this was nothing compared to the bus station. This was definitely a unique experience in waiting at one of these terminals. It had been obvious to me that the types of people who use this method of transport are those that don't have a pot to **** in - of which I was just another statistic. Memphis bus station was certainly a decrepit and decaying place, as were its people who waited for their bus out of ...
London, England, United Kingdom wolfieboy69... Not looking forward to all the darkness, although saying that, it has messed with my brain clock and I somehow am getting into bed much earlier!!! Ok 2 days into wearing mittens and I'm ready to throw them (hear whoop whoop whoop sound as they fly)! First of all the mittens I own are of the most stupid design, the finger part has sheep lining but the thumb part has nothing, so my thumb gets freezing and I have to pull it into the finger part which ...
London, England, United Kingdom tarryne... the ruins, so you still can see some of the original stone work, some roman some form the Regency era. I didnt know this before i was there, but Bath is where Jane Austen lived, this wqs to my plesant suprise since you all know how much I love her. But our tour guide was flakey and kind of bad. We didnt know that admission to Stonehenge and the Roman Baths werent included, which was very frustrating. We got back at about 8pm last night. I had a shower, called ...

London, United Kingdom aussiegirl83... on the site where Ann Boelyn was executed and visited her tomb... I ever saw the chopping block! I walked through the Bloody Tower where the two little Princes were murdered and saw the Crown Jewels and Royal Arms. Afterwords I walked along the London Bridge (actually Tower Bridge) and took a tour of the inner workings. Today I went to the Natural History Museum which I'm sorry to say ...
London, United Kingdom waanderlust... I am glad that I did it. My two favourite activities in the UK had to have been going to watch Mamma Mia at the West End and visiting friends who are more like family in Basingstoke. The show was foot stomping fun. We throughly enjoyed the show as well as the whole occasion associated with it. After a couple of days of living in London and getting around by Tube, I could almost imagine that I could live there. Yax and Addy ...
London, England, United Kingdom kamyp... Even McDonald's is sleek and modern with cool Eames-like chairs overlooking bustling street. I must get a shot of handsome older chaps sitting, chatting in chairs. They are friendly, acknowledge and wave. We only have time for yummy desserts of boursin cheesecake, chocolate mousse and vanilla-bean ice cream with Bailey's coffees - exhausted. Have to arise early for morning sightseeing.
