... I feel more ready than ever to leave.

As for this blog, I'll be updating it at times on my hike, but it will be much less often than I have on other trips as I'll have much less access to the Internet. The posts will almost certainly not be this long either. I'll be taking plenty of photos, though, so hopefully I'll be able to get those uploaded at times, and even if I don't post much, I can always come back after the trip and write more retroactively.

... Along the shoreline one can find steep bluffs, tree lined banks, open farmlands and level fields. You can visit the lock and dam one mile southeast.

This campground is right near the Arkansas Wine Trail along 186 and 64 and the town of Altus which is the Wine Capitol of Arkansas. Nice area and an easy drive to Hot Springs down the Moonshine Scenic Byway route 7. There are six COE managed camping areas on Ozark Lake. Nice overnight at this ...

Arkansas mid November campfire! "Don't miss Horseshoe Canyon!"

We finally embarked upon our long journey back West after our sojourn in the SE. With an appointment to rebuild Sarge's (that's our van) transmission in Oklahoma City as our only blip on the time line that followed our stint in Horse Pens ...
