Last night I was sitting with the computer and not feeling as happy as
I perhaps should. Then it begun to pour with rain, so I immediately
decided to go dancing in the rain. I grabbed a towel and said to Ritu,
"I am going to go and dance in the rain" she said okay and I was off,
nothing beats the feeling.

Today I went upstairs to have a cigarette and the 9 year old maid,
Rinkee, followed ...

... everytime. politly i would take them off and listen to his chibber chabber. inside i was like cc'mon man cant you see im watching paul blart mall security! (which totally sucked) i did dig pelham 123, check it out if you havent. i think most people sleep on flights that are that long, 14 hours, but not this guy. in total i must have slept 45 min. i figured that i land at 830 pm delhi time so i would be nice and tired upon my arrival. the flight was perfect few bumps ...

... to collect the clothes i had left drying overnight. it was still dark at this point, so i didnt notice the barcelonian hiding round the other side of the stove until his face appeared next to me in torchlight.
"we are ****ing lucky!" he whispered, with a grin. suddenly, my head cleared and i looked out of the window. clear, blue sky. lakpa walked into the room just as i had finished frantically gathering my belongings. "pack quickly, the sun rises in an hour."

People are always cutting other people off, and it is true when they say that a horn is more useful than brakes in India. I am astonished that there are not more big accidents, and there have been a few times I was sure we were about to crash and did not, but I do notice that every car has many bumps and scratches ...

... and children there are, all infected by their (mostly now dead) husbands, it seems this has happened mainly due to the Nepali male workers going to find work in Inda and other places and they then bring back the virus to their unsuspecting wives and families .. it was an eye opener, and passed a couple of hours!! So quite a journey all in all and possibly more tiring than the overland border entry would have been!! but all part of the adventure I suppose!!

... to find a home stay for the evening. We stayed with a family of four who had a tailor business in front and a few spare rooms in back for rent. We walked up to Gate 3, the entrance into the Pink City and began shopping for scarves to bring home as gifts. We came back to the family house at 7 to go with them to dinner at 4 Seasons Restaurant where we splurged on American burgers, YUM! We arrived home, took "hot water bucket showers" and ...

I don't think there is anything harder in life than having a child walk up to you and ask for money or for you to buy something off them. The beggars would have most likely never felt a clean nappy on there skin as a baby, fresh clean sheets as they are tucked into bed at night, the feeling of a shower washing away the day's play, 3 meals a day one would be nice ... We have walked past mothers holding babies begging for food or money ...

... Yesterday we visited a Sikh temple in a very poor neighborhood. The was human waste on the streets and an unbelievable amount of flies. As we walked to the temple, there were many beggars including a 12-13 year old girl who was severely disfigured. I later learned she had leprosy. We later visited a Buddhist and prayed in a Hindu Temple. I am still trying to learn more details about those religions. We have had many speakers ...
