My last two days in Tenerife

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 21, 2014

This is it. I'm sitting in my residencia now on the final night of my time here in Tenerife. I cannot believe I've been here for five weeks and that I won't be going to the hospital on Monday...it feels like I've started a new life here and now I'm throwing away something I got so used to! Either way, I'm excited for what the rest of my summer, year and life hold, so though I'm sad to leave, I'm also happy to go.

These last two days have been absolutely amazing! It was ...

... the entire conversation was in English, and she asked Laura for permission to leave that day. It was her birthday, and her husband had been sleeping in the hospital since the day she arrived (about two weeks--talk about a devoted husband), so she wanted to be able to experience the island and celebrate her day with him. Having feed our minds and bodies it was time to explore before the heat of the day hit the low 30' degree. Hopping onto a local bus we headed north for about an hour; the coastline is fascinating following the ups and downs of the steep foothills, crossing huge deep dry gullies carved over centuries by torrential waters. The journey tends to zigzag to ...

    Week3---WEEKEND---week4

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 11, 2014

This weekend we had the Session A people show up. They're fellows who decided to only take two weeks out of their summer for the internship, so they'll be leaving with all of us next weekend. About eight new students arrived, and they're all pretty cool! It was nice to spend one of our best weekends of the trip with them and see some new parts of the island.

On Saturday we all got in our big coach bus and traveled down to the south for the beach. The beach was called ...
