Melbourne, Victoria, Australia nanoucoco... decided which trails I would try to hike in tomorrow and then I hit the sack early-about 10 pm Victoria time. A word on time zones-Australia has fractional time zones. In the US, each time zone is one hour different than the previous time zone. In Australia, they also have ˝ hour time zone increments. For example: Adelaide, in the state of South Australia, is ˝ hour different than Hall's Gap, in the state of Victoria.
Hall's Gap, Victoria, Australia pecten56... using a baking tray, no one has met the challenge, the closest person got half way through and was then violently ill, it would easily feed 10 men. So there you have the facts on Australia's biggest hamburger, did we take the challene - NO!! On another day out we drove to Horesham for a walk around town and to treat Jacob and Claire to a day at the local indoor play centre. Tomorrow we leave to visit Ballarat, we are staying for a week so we'll blog again when we have seen the sights.
Stawell, Victoria, Australia serenitynow... are quite jealous of those wetsuits strolling around... There are a few waterfront villas to rent, I guess it would be a great spot to have a holiday with friends or family. After some nice wraps in the only café, it was time to drive up to the Grampians and the drive is quite pleasant as you see the hills coming closer and closer...they actually look much higher than they are as everything else is ...
Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia guifil01... cliff edges and we sit ourselves on some over hangs and dangled our legs, fine whilst actally on the edge but when you wander round and see what you were actually sat on... we **** ourselves! On arriving back in the valley we head out on some unsealed roads (don't tell the car hire company) to some aboriginal rock art dating back over 30,000 years. Further south and we hit the Great Ocean Road. This road runs several hundred kilometers along the south coast of Australia ...
Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia aliandjonWe are going nowhere fast. Having arrived in Halls Gap in the Grampians 3 hours from Melbourne the car dies! So 40 minutes later we find ourselves in the cab of an RACV tow truck as we were taken a further hour back to where we had come from to a garage. No joy the ...

Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia chrisstamboG'day kids and a Happy New Year from Cobba Palace down here in Melbourne. 2008. Where has the time gone? This year was the oddest of New Years. For one thing the state of Victoria saw a record-breaker in climate for the big day, which kinda cocked things up a bit. We were all geared up for a few beers and a barbie by the pool, until we heard about the impending heatwave and the fire ban that was ...
Ararat and The Grampians Nat. Park, Victoria, Australia scottwoz... flash of lightening all the caravan park lights went out. The electric had blown. Enough was enough. We had our little camping lantern and despite getting quite wet we grabbed our duvets and headed for the sanctuary of the laundry room, to spend the rest of the night in. there was a table and chairs in there and it was warm and dry so we prepare ourselves for a long wait until daybreak. If only we had some dollar coins and some electricity we could have used the tumble ...
Halls Gap, Australia keenos... although unfortunately the main walking track was closed due to the massive forest fires that ravaged the area last year. A lot of the walking tracks in this area are still closed due to those fires sometimes to allow vegetation to regrow and sometimes because the tracks are just too dangerous. After McKenzie Falls, I also visited the Balconies which are rock formations that jut ...
