We left Ft. Stockton in a very thick fog, with some rain (apparently the dying gasps of the hurricane coming up from Mexico) which cleared fairly early. It was all about LBJ today, with a visit to Johnson City and The Ranch. The visitor center in Johnson City is managed by National Park Service and at the ranch by State and National Parks.
Both locations were top notch. We really enjoyed the driving tour of the ranch. The park service provided a cd for our car, which was an audio guide. We really got to see the working ranch and then toured the Texas White House.
