... It was interesting to see their horse and buggies traveling along the same highways as our cars and SUVs. On one of the roads we came across an old mill building that was now serving as a homestead. The most interesting aspect was the old boot that had been mounted to a post at the front of the house. There was a bolt coming out of the top of the boot that I interpreted would be used for someone would tie up their horse.

Arriving in the Amish area near Bird in Hand we stopped at the first quilt shop we saw. Beautiful quilts hanging outdoors on the clothes line and over the railings. Magnificent quilts inside.
