... This meant we would have to use the motor. The key was to make sure we made it through Woods Hole on time. Woods Hole is the trickiest passageway on the way to the Vineyard because of the tides. It is a fairly narrow passageway and when we crossed "the hole" there was quite a lot of traffic. As we approached the Vineyard, the most visible sailboat was the Black Dog schooner.

... and I went to bed very happy.

We woke up to an yet another amazing meal. This time it was a delicious breakfast of poached egg in a cup of white toast - under the poached egg, was Canadian bacon and the bearnaise sauce was on top. If that wasn't enough, there was bacon on the side!

Our bellies full for the day (almost), we left Jan and Patrick's beautiful home and headed for Cape Cod.

... 1600's. Then we drove past lots of mansions along the way. Newport was where the Vanderbilts, Rockerfellers, etc. built their 'cottages' which were actually mansions! Had lunch at Black Pearl on the Harbor. Then walked along Cliff Walks behind the mansions. The ocean is so clear that you can see the rocks ...

... the east chop bluffs then through the neighborhoods behind there were there originally had been a baptist campground. Lovely, quiet area!. We ended at Susan's house for a brief visit on their porch and a gift of homemade beach plum jelly. We headed back to the cottage only to meet up with Mark and Germaine and instead headed off with them to a Slice of Life for a great lunch and a lot of laughs.
