... skull at the head of the stone. To modern eyes these appear comical, almost "Tim Burton-esque", but to 17th century people,these were definitely serious depictions of physical death and spiritual resurrection.

Moving along, we passed by Benjamin Franklin's statue by the old latin school. I could imagine the lecherous old bugger happily spending eternity leering at passing female tourists as they pass by.

Ok, I've decided that I want to start this blog for today on a positive start and finish..even though it was far from that! The positive start: We woke up and it was cloudy all day and not a drop of rain fell on us! There.

... the Boston Red Sox and their traditional rivals, the New York Yankees. The stadium was sold out. It has a seating capacity of 37,493 and is the most difficult ticket to access. The game started at 8pm and was still going at 11pm when we decided to walk back to the motel, 15 minutes away. We watched the rest of the game from the motel and it finished at 12:30 with the Boston Red Sox losing to the Yankees 9-6.
