... the Palm Springs area about 30 flight miles away, on the other side of the Santa Rosa mountains. Notice the bright clouds over there. Our Inn isn't so dark sky, the winding driveway is lit with a couple dozen marker lights that flow light in all directions, not just toward the ground - the two bright lights in the foreground are marker lights. We are hoping that Joshua Tree national park, later tonight, will be much darker and the Milky Way can easily be seen from the tent. ...

We made it to Anza Borrego state Park. Now to the bed and breakfast to check in and get some good!! We are hungry since we didn't eat on the plane or in Phoenix. I brought some cheese and crackers on the plane but that was it!! The Flats are really liking this area as well. Cris ...
