Although it took 11 hours to get from DC to Randolph, it was A LOT better than flying since we would still be waiting for our flight today I bet. We scooted out of DC just as THE BIGGEST STORM EVER was coming in. Didn't really see much snow at all on the way up but Amtrack did cancel all northbound trains the next day.
So you know how the train goes - sway sway, choo choo, read, sleep, eat, stand up and stretch - repeat. But it was a bit surprising ...

... well received by the Saga-aged visitors (the rest, not us). We had left it a bit late to see everything, so we scooted about the site taking glimpses of the various displays, including one room with four original Claude Monet paintings. The owners clearly don't use a Dollar Store very often. It was a good stop-off and deserved closer inspection. Sadly, it closed at 5 and we were urged out into Burlington's rush-hour traffic.

Touring Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory

Just doesn't get any better than starting your day by going to a Ben & Jerry's factory and tasting ice cream. What a success story. We really enjoyed the tour of the factory. I was surprised to learn they freeze all of the ingredients before they put them in the ice cream. If they would not do that, the items would just blend in with the ice cream. Our sample was a caramel ice cream with caramel and chocolate swirls ...
