... br> As you may recall, the beloved fall foliage is a little late this year, we are talking about approx. 2 weeks. At this point we are at Peak Season, the colors are popping and are stunningly beautiful. At least that's the case up here in the Northern parts of New England, the Southern areas are still about 1 week behind.

    Well, enjoy!

    Talk to you soon,

Day 52. New Hampshire Today we went to the Fryeburg Fair, the biggest fair in the state of Maine. It was great, very country, Andrew you would have loved it. Forestry was very much to the fore, with a Maine State Forest stand, old milling machines puffing away, competitions for wood chopping, saw logging, log rolling and log unstacking from trucks. State ...

... wild life and much more.
When walking to one of the gates you can feel the fall breeze and smell the fair food. Entering the fair you begin to see food stands, shopping standing and depending on what gate you enter in you can also see the beginning of the animal exhibits. You will see many cows but they are actually breed for different reasons, you will see dairy cows, beef cows, show steer, show oxen, steer pulling and lastly oxen pulling. There are horse pulling ...

Day 51. New Hampshire Today we journeyed across White Mountain - but not before we did a ten mile loop to bring us back to the beginning. We learnt how maple syrup is produced and even saw some maple farms. Apart for the magnificent drive and scenery, the highlight of the day was a stunning two mile walk through Flume Gorge. Today met all our expectation of leaf peeping - excellent - green, brown, yellow, orange, red making a final statement before the chills of winter. Mileage: 116 ...

We are completely fogged in today and you can't see the mountains at all. Yesterday it unfortunately rained all day and we had a hailstorm in the evening so we couldn't go on the auto road up to Mount Washington or do much of anything outside. It was very disappointing to not get at least one fine day to do some hiking as there are marked trails everywhere including a vast area that leads out from the ...
