... the Franconia Notch State Park, heading for the Flume Gorge Walk. To our dismay, a coach load of English Saga-types arrived at the same time. We ducked our heads in embarrassment and pretended to be Lithuanian or whatever and snacked in splendid isolation. The walk was excellent and much needed exercise for us, through the forest, through a covered bridge and up to the Flume, a cascade of water through a narrowing gorge. Very picturesque and ...

... pizza at Mr. Pizza down the road from the hotel and got gas right across the street as it was a reasonable $3.32 which was better than the $3.56 we were seeing around. Now we are all gassed up and ready for the morning. I hope that the weather is nicer tomorrow. It is terribly gloomy and trying to protect my camera from the rain was not fun. It is also hard to drive in the mountains with so much fog and low visibility. ...

... 6288 feet. It was very cold up there as a matter of fact there was a little bit of snow and. I got to throw a snow ball at Dan. After we got back down to Jackson the weather was starting to warm up. Looks like we might be able to leave the jackets and sweaters in our suitcase for a few days. We are only in Jackson one night then drive through the White Mountains and over to ...
