Wonderful place. Great location, very friendly, and their afternoon teas for residents (tea, cakes, sherry) is such a lovely touch.

So we are on our way.... sort of. Bit of a mishap with the coach to Heathrow where the brakes stuck on as we approached Reading. After some faffing around another coach turned up, but only had space for 6 additional passengers. Wonderful day seeing the sight of San Francisco. We woke up early, or rather had trouble sleeping after about 3:00 in the morning due to travelling for about 11 hours and change in time. Still we both felt OK and decided to just set off straight after breakfast.

We started at Union Square, which is the heart of modern day San Francisco. …

... drive to Daly City (about half an hour away) to renew our gym cards at the closest Snap Fitness we could find.

We get there and of course, the staffed hours are only till 1pm on a Friday and it was now 4pm. So we drove all the way there to have to drive all the way back, lucky it wasn’t more than half an hour away. As we drive back to our hotel for another early night in, we get stuck in so much traffic as it’s peak hour on a Friday late afternoon. Annoying!

A family tradition as this has previously been a book shoppe/cafe but now only a cafe - but great coffee. Imports his beans from Rome so he says but his espresso would curl your hair - just the way I like it! Also had a Cannoli - not something I am familiar with but all the Americans raved about it. Something like a Sweet Crispy Cannelloni tube filled with ...
