The tuk tuk upsell

Yesterday we decided that we might want to go and see a muai thai match but didnt want to pay the 2,000 baht fee they were charging at the reception desk. So we walked to the boxing stadium which looked very close on the map but was in fact around a 1.5hr walk. By the time we got there, we were more than slightly peeved by the fact it was the same price and i was a nice shade of sunburnt beetroot. So we decided to take a tuk tuk to see the rest of our sights.

We settled on the bargai...

Testing the waters

We arrived yesterday after a really great flight with Thai airways and came straight to the New Road Guest House, where we checked into a private double room. I'm not quite sure what I thought my AU$20 would get me but on first inspection of the room, it wasnt this. To say you couldnt swing a cat is a bit of an overstatement, you couldnt swing a rat. At least the linen was clean although I kinda wish the air con unit on the wall was more than ornamental. I thought we may have been getting ri...

I was glad he ran into the door because I was walking directly behind him and was digging around in my purse for my lipstick. If Krisha hadn’t run into the sliding glass door first, it would have been me. Krishna and I had a good laugh….

It's a good thing the sun has disappeared today as I'm burnt and I need a break from it. I'm already thinking about ordering more food... it's just so dam good! Thus far I seem to be living off of fruit, yogurt and muesli, banana pancakes, fruit shakes ...

Repos a Bangkok

Bonjour,

Bangkok Highlife

... makes me feel disappointed with English speaking people as we expect them to speak our language, i am trying to learn but it is so hard.

Saw a car smash into the barrier as well on the motorway, apparently the taxi man says that they race each other and that it is quite common for that to happen. Another thing that i remember is that they have no care for space between cars, we were flying along (no seat belts, sorry mum! as our taxi man says, freestyle) and we ...

One Night in Bangkok

... understand that you get to your table (bed) by walking up a concrete gangplank to enter the building via large airplane locks. We’re not sure what it means, but it sure sounds exciting. The wait staff also wear spacesuit and angel wing uniforms, so we will try to dress to impress as well.

Before dinner, we will take in the last sunset of our vacation at the the Hotel Banyan Tree’s famed Skybar. We ...

... excited for that as that is the age that she hopes to teach. I start my orientation on Thursday and am really looking forward to it as well.

Life in Bangkok has been really great to us so far. Of course we have had our share of issues with the new culture as well as a few lovers quarells but in the end we are still here and are enjoying things. One of the biggest losses that we are trying to get used to is that of our friends and family. I really miss being able to ...

... molto gustosi. Rientro in Hotel.

A last look of Nong

... my old love Nong a last time. Not that I expect to actually talk to her, after all her suger daddy from Norway should well be back by now...Nong will have to do her "thing" again, hold hands and play the docile Asian ladyfriend devoted to her older European lover....

The blue uniformed security guards outside the main entrance are still playing their endless games of Thai checkers...a small bottle of Black cat Whisky ...
