So here we are, getting set for our 2014 Balkan Adventure. After 2 days of ferocious packing and cleaning, as we vacate what has been our Reception, Bar and Restaurant for the last six and a half years, we have collapsed in a heap pending some last minute personal packing and 'making ourselves look beautiful' preparations - so much to do, so little time!

... you could order a stein of beer and just walk around all the venues. What could be better. We were instructed to straddle the slide, sit down with our legs in the air, tuck our arms in, nudge forward and let gravity do its thing …. weeeeeeeee. It was a blast. The second slide was ...

Hitler's Eagle's Next

A travel blog entry by judyinocala on Sep 10, 2014

Today we are back in Oberammergau with two choices of activities. One group will enjoy a quiet day exploring Oberammergau, and others will choose to go again to the Austrian border, high up in the mountains, to visit Hitler's Alpen retreat called the Eagle's Nest. The weather threatens to make the trip pointless, but Dave is very interested in World War II and has been looking forward to visiting this place. So he and some others decided to take the chance. ...
