By this time, we had run out of time and had to make the dash back to the ship to make sure were arrived in time for the sailing. The visit to the market street would have been interesting though. Our drive ...

... I felt a bit bad for intruding on their peaceful morning but after all they do depend on the tourism to be able to still live like this, and a simple nod and a 'Zaoshang hao' from me seemed to make them happy. So I wondered around the buildings and farmlands here for a while, and got a good view of the area from a nearby hill. Then had some tasty lunch, and maybe my Mandarin pronunciations are still a bit off because what I ordered was not what I got, but it was ...

Had a lazy day today staying around the Hotel Indigo. We walked down Zhongshan Lu and had lunch at Aijsen Ramen, one of our favourite Japanese restaurant chains. We then wandered back to the hotel and had afternoon tea sitting up in the restaurant area overlooking the harbour and Gulangyu Island, unfortunately not warm or nice enough to sit outside.
