    Day 9

... but eventually we had to go out to get on the boat for snorkeling. The boat ride to the snorkeling spot was amazing and relaxing! I got a little sea sick once we anchored, but I just jumped in the water with all my snorkeling gear so I was fine. Snorkeling was cool but I had trouble breathing and my mouth piece was broken. ... organization is partnering with the bishop for use.

The rooms are air conditioned and simply equipped, but much of the equipment is what most Americans would consider failing. Rusted shower fixtures, a broken hot tub, cracked counter tops, an expectation to encounter cockroaches, lizards, and who knows what else...Though it does feel clean, and we've been assured that it ...

... It is hard to gauge a countries poverty level by things like this, but I try my best to identify indicators of social development. I am, after two months, still getting a feel for the people I am living and working with. Getting a vision of what they have, how they function, and how it is my learning process can make a positive contribution to their community.
I once read in National Geographic, I think, that there is a new development index which uses nighttime ...
