... s LOADS of snow but conditions were awful with high winds and loads and loads of snow. The girls finished around 11ish (except Sophie who finished around 1) and me and Laurie finished around 2 after getting rather lost and coming home through the trees, putting a massive gash in the bottom of my board in the process (not too much of a problem, needs a service anyway!).
got an avalanche talk later today which should be fun.
that's all for now, hope everything ...
... economy. For those of us who do not work in the mining industry, we have been forced to pay these high prices which are, in my opinion, ridiculous. This is in no way any indictment on Perth iteslf as a city, however I do not feel that it offers much value for money and I believe that the above examples illustrate this clearly.
Other than analysing prices, we have been spending several hours riding the mountain this week. Wednesday was the best day yet after ...

So since we last spoke, the temepratures began to warm up to 2-3 degrees but fortunately there was no precipitation and a thin layer of snow still covers the village. I took the opportunity to go shopping at the unlikely named local snowboard shop, 'Supa Surfers Paradise' to buy a new board and ...

... appeals) and it's easy to get caught up in it all and become a 'St Anton Worrier'..... but there's just no point in my opinion. Why should I stress when I look out the window at the sun-rising over the crisply snow-capped mountain peaks and ponder the possibilies of 150 day plus of unadulterated, unitnerrupted snowboarding and partying. This is what we've been waiting for - the beginning. This is it.
Edit: It's now snowing.
After leaving Cortina in the morning, we drove into Austria and made a stop for a couple of hours in Imst to ride the alpine coaster there. Unlike the summer slide near the Salzberg Lakes that we rode, this one was on rails and was the longest in Europe at 3.5km or 2.1m. All of us rode it once ...
Imst, Austrian Alps, Austria brian796... arrived...Sammy an Irish lad with a very English accent, Nick a young and sporty boat builder from Lymington and the Penguin...a German pharmacist with an unusual and high pitched laugh. There seems to be a core of ski bums here for the summer season...most came for one season 8 to 10 years on they can't think of anywhere they'd rather be. The next evening I bump into Skinny out drinking with his boss Jorgen - an Austrian who runs Maximilian - a traditional ...
St anton am arlberg, Austria redbikini... br>Silvretta suusakeskusest ca 2 km Landecki suunas asub ühe külalistemaja külje peal mõnus hubane 2-korruseline suusamajake, mis mahutab u 8 inimest. Asukoht on küll keskusest natuke eemal, ent tasuta suusabuss viib teatud kellaaegadel huvilisi edasi-tagasi. Bussiaegade üle võib küll viriseda, sest viimane buss keskusest väljub 17.30 ja kes soovib kauemaks jääda, peab jalad selga võtma või takso püüdma.

... felt rather fortunate (and comforted) to find it. The first thing that I noticed was that the altar is brought out into the congregation with the pews in the wings facing the altar. What a find! I can’t wait to get the pictures to show Father Spiess (hey, maybe we can write this off as a business trip, since we are doing research for the Heritage Campaign). This church was built in 1892 (pretty new by European standards) and renovated in 1978. On our way back down to ...
