We left for the snow clad Himalayan peaks of Manali, towards the Rohtang pass. Our destination was Gulaba beyond which the road was closed due to snow even in April. This road which connects Manali to Spiti and Ladakh through the Rohtang pass opens late June and closes in November. I awoke the first day of snow camp to perfect weather streaming in the window of my guesthouse, golden!

Headed down to the shop after a quick breakfast and met up with the rest of the group, which had grown considerably since the day before to about 14 people. ... hier kurz vor Neun. Schade um die verschwendete Stunde, gerade weil wir kurz vor Acht schon viel zu spät fanden. Aber naja, es sollte trotzdem ein grandioser Tag werden.
