    ... wilderness area full of campsites and water trails in which canoeists travel for days and even weeks across. We met some a family if 3 generations just returning from a 4 day trip and another group of young men returning from a 10 day, 75 mile trip. I visited with a couple who work for local outfitters and, on their day off, were headed out to an island to pick blueberries.

    ... point and glanced over to realize that I needed a picture of that, so I turned around and went back to get it. I pulled in behind a GS that I had seen at the rally and took a couple of pictures, then asked the couple if they would take one of me with my bike and the lake. They said sure, and did so, which generated some conversation about bikes and Canadian gas stations. This led to the rider noticing that one of my trailer tires was very low.     ... down at the water from a bridge and the river appeared to look as though it was showing us a view of North and South America from outer space - of course water levels dictate these types of things. You could do this nice little hike in an hour, but slow down and take two hours. You'll thank yourself when you've finished. Take bug spray.

    We couldn't have asked for more from a honeymoon spot. The Lutsen resort has a great history rooted in a fishing pioneer and homesteader (Nelson got 160 acres for $13), the lodge and grounds are wonderfully rustic yet very comfortable (pool, game room, dining room, bar, nature trail, two awesome covered bridges, ...
