    ... It was overwhelming. We found ourselves dumbfounded by the abundance of food we easily have access to in grocery stores. Amanda had a lot of trouble with appliances and remembering how they worked (there were multiple spills with the coffee maker). Amanda also found herself quickly going back to her old habits of having this frequent itch to check her iPhone for emails. You acclimatize quickly.

    Being back, it was amazing ...

    ... zpět, a tak jsem zkoušel dál. Mezitím se někde z křoví vynořil děda, budící dojmu, že on si se svým zevnějškem jaksi hlavu neláme, přišel za mnou a po krátké konverzaci mi stačil sdělit, že už tu čeká od 7 od rána a nic mu nezastavilo. Hmm, snad budu mít větší štěstí, alespoň vypadám jistě lépe než on.

    ... around into a few of the shops, the chocolate shop, toy store, candy store, taffy store and decide to leave before we buy too many more Lollies and require dentist visits. We walk along the old railroad jumping over the sleepers and cross the freeway to head down Capitol Mall. We can tell we've arrived in the political and financial heart of the city. Immaculate tree lined street, beautiful buildings, spotless footpaths all leading to the Capitol. ...

    ... up to the Cathay counter. Still no ticket and I had to call a 3rd tome now. They agent said the person did not submit the ticket so, they would do that After that 20 minute call, they said give it 10 minutes and it should be ok. After 15 minutes, I go back up to the counter, the ticket still shows me in LAX! Mind you, I have been nice and polite this whole time.. Did I also mention that on these calls, with AA, I have also ...

    ... is typical but the "Mall" grounds are spectacular. Every tree in California was planted here in the mid-1800's. Today, they are massive. Numerous statues and flower gardens adorn the entire area - very picturesque.

    Old Sacramento looks like it did in 1848 when the California gold rush started here - all the OLD buildings cover at least 3 city blocks. Everything has been beautifully maintained - the timbered sidewalks and dockside ...
