... It was overwhelming. We found ourselves dumbfounded by the abundance of food we easily have access to in grocery stores. Amanda had a lot of trouble with appliances and remembering how they worked (there were multiple spills with the coffee maker). Amanda also found herself quickly going back to her old habits of having this frequent itch to check her iPhone for emails. You acclimatize quickly.

Mezitím se někde z křoví vynořil děda, budící dojmu, že on si se svým zevnějškem jaksi hlavu neláme, přišel za mnou a po krátké konverzaci mi stačil sdělit, že už tu čeká od 7 od rána a nic mu nezastavilo. Hmm, snad budu mít větší štěstí, alespoň vypadám jistě lépe než on.

... is typical but the "Mall" grounds are spectacular. Every tree in California was planted here in the mid-1800's. Today, they are massive. Numerous statues and flower gardens adorn the entire area - very picturesque.
Old Sacramento looks like it did in 1848 when the California gold rush started here - all the OLD buildings cover at least 3 city blocks. Everything has been beautifully maintained - the timbered sidewalks and dockside ...
