    ... There is not a lot of foliage colour around Burlington yet so we headed to a higher altitude with greater success. The recent spate of warm dry weather has delayed the colouring of the leaves but the late heavy rain will bring rapid changes.     ... They were built over corn stalks with round heads and hats. We saw all sorts of costumes including roaring 20’, the sixties, the 70s, etc., and outfits from different walks of life. A spokesperson for the village said, the kookier and brighter the outfit, the better. Villagers put these “leaf people” out at the autumn equinox and they attract visitors to the village.
