... home just as a storm came upon us. It was short and powerful with thunder and lightning. In a place where there was drought for ten years, every bit of rain is welcome. We had a rest, a cup of tea, and good conversation and then went to the Gateway Tavern in Mildura for dinner. Tomorrow we head back to Melbourne.

... Red to NOT pull them up-he has been pulling each batch I plant up thinking they were weeds, plus he didn’t like the looks of them—like that is his decision!!! Now he is upset because I am going to get rid of the 2 cactus in my yard. He likes them and he says he has been trimming on them for me. Does that man think I am blind! I see no evidence of trimming and the one like that broke in a storm months ago is still hanging on! That should have been gone ...

... home. Game 3 of the Red Sox is today at 4 and finally we were able to get it on the TV! Later: We WON-a great game-1-0!!!!! Off to Caffe Italia for dinner and we met at terrific couple. Fletcher, a State cop, and she knew the insane cop that gave the citation to the beach guys. ... it was only a few minutes until we started boarding. A nice flight to St Louis, but so cloudy that I never could see the land beneath the clouds. Changed planes there and had an hour wait so ate my good lunch of chicken and BBQ sauce and fig newton's for dessert. I had a seat at the front of this plane and it was only a bit over 2 more hours to Boston.
