It was almost dark and another 150kms further on we saw signs to Springfield. I've since been told it's the home of The Simpsons and judging by a few of the folk we saw there I can see why The Simpsons would live here.

Having been in NYC and Boston prior to this, Mystic's tranquility was very accommodating and as we wondered along the riverside encountering a few seafood shacks on the way the sunset was mesmerising. The sky's rapidly changing colour was having a humbling effect on the crystal river water and made for ...

... the buildings, and even a nap or two.

On Sunday evening I had a spiritual direction meeting with the priest, and that didn't go so well. I won't go into it here, but suffice it to say it put a damper on my memories of this beautiful place. Sometimes Silence, God and nature can just say it better than any man I suppose. At least to my ears and heart.

Monday morning I left after breakfast, making the journey toward home. I had been dreading ...
