Pit Stop, KL
Caught 3 buses just to get to the main bus station and had an unexpected, luxurious bus with armchair seats. The journey should have taken us 5 hours but we arrived in 3 hours. We walked up Pekaling Street to find somewhere to stay and realised that KL accommodation is pretty pricey. Settled for Matahari Lodge thanks to the charismatic owner and …
Where I borrow some sugar from the neighbours.
I forgot how much I liked Indian men. Their glorious moustaches, their stitched and graffiteed jeans. Their prim suit pants, polo shirts and sandals. The way they murmur 'my god you are beautiful' in your ear as you walk past, so different to the South American machismo. The way they unselfconsciously pose – Bollywood style with fists pumped …

Lovely lodge over 3 floors. Has an elevator, comfortable beds, shared but clean bathrooms/showers. Breakfast (toast) was included even though we had to leave at 4am for a flight. Free computer use, sofa's with a tv and DVD selection to relax. Staff were so friendly, good location in Chinatown, great little place to stay for the night.

Very clean, fun and social. The service is amazing. Sean sewed my ripped shorts for me! Loved this place. Excellent information, free tea & water and toast for breakfast and everything was fantastic. Don't be put off by the grumpy desk clerk if you arrive late at night.
