... a country that is so small, the elevation, vegetation and rock formations change with what seems like enormous frequency. We headed towards Catanzaro and then south through and alongside many beach towns. We stopped at Lido San Leo ( how fitting) and walked onto the beach where the water was very calm compared to what we've seen on the Mediterranean side and also a different, almost greenish colour. ... there was very little shade. Rob and Deron would advance with us a bit and then find the nearest tree to get some shade. Tonight we slipped over for a quick visit with Zia Giaconda and then Rob dropped me at Anna Maria's so we could bake Ginetti. ... 20 something strong and the food and company were equally outstanding. I asked if Rob had been well behaved without my supervision and my cousins answered that he was,except for the fact that he looked like a "snowflake" amongst the well tanned Italians (credit to Alberto this time for the impeccable descriptor).
