Eli has arrived so as part of her whirl wind tour we have coming to Malindi for a few days. Stayed at driftwood and well it was a bit nice and contrary to the forecast we enjoyed a lot of sun and only one down poring. But the downside was 12 hours on a bus each way! Flying would be easier but were on a budget ...
... walk... and big surprise during the walk I saw some very weird movement in the water (high tide) so I came closer to identify the phenomenon and saw a big darker area... waited a few minutes, nothing... and when I was just about to turn round it happened again the dark spot was in fact a fish band and they were all jumping together out of the water and this a few 3 meters away of the shore and me! Very beautiful choregraphy! Unfortunately ...

As usual Nathalie&Cie rose with the flaming star and slipped out of the room to enjoy a solitary swim under the bending palm trees&the grasshoppers songs...
The walk to Watamu village took us a good hour... well spent taking pictures... and picking up seashells!
The Village is a very interesting place if you are a weird bird like me and enjoy playing the anthropologist!

Turning left there are a few hotels and bars edging the beach and screeches of machiato brown Italians. The series of tatty beach hut stalls selling beach wraps and hats etc. are all suitably named, with John Lewis, Harrods, Selfridges, Argos, Tescos, Bicester Village, Del Boys and, naturally, Marks & Spencers all proudly but squiffily painted on the ...
So that was the end to our Friday.
One thing we did find out was the answer to Kaya's riddle/lateral thinking question he posed the night before. It went like this:
