Day Five – The Long Road Home

A travel blog entry by meckley on Jul 05, 2015

We slept in late, which was good. We had a six hour drive home. Oh no, six hours with Garmin and Kim telling me how to drive. Because it was a holiday weekend, there were a lot of cops on the Ohio highways. After a few close calls, I slowed down a little. After I got through Columbus, I turned Garmin off. The events leading to the Indy 500 were not looking so good for the Indycar series. At the beginning of the season, Indycars got new bodywork and the first races were excellent. There was talk that the speeds would approach the record set ...

... see a huge monument to Lucy, her grave was modest and like many others. For those of you who aren't Lucy fans, the red hearts that lead you to her grave are the same as those used at the beginning of I Love Lucy TV show. Lucy died following a heart transplant operation on April 26 1989.

Afterwards, we drove to Celeron, which is where Lucy was actually born (about a 5 minute drive from Jamestown) and found a park where ...
