Randy I am sure you remember this trek in reverse well. We only have about 250 miles to go today but much of it is at 40mph. It is a great walk through history of the Indian tribes who lived on the plains in this area, and their encounters with the white man. The museum ...

The afternoon was expected to be hot, but a strong breeze had sprung up and cooled things off, at least as far as the weather was concerned. The haze hung heavy on the hills as smoke from forest fires in Idaho and Montana blew across the Bighorns. The situation was hotter for those of us who were trapped in the Durant Mercantile. Outside was the notorious Queen of Diamonds Gang… inside was Sheriff ...

... checking Out the town. It has a lot of western history including the Occidental Hotel and the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum. In 1900 Jim opened a drug store in Buffalo that served cowboys and settlers for over 50 years. He also befriended the region's Native Americans - who fought in the last of the Indian Wars. They thought of him as a great medicine man and he came into possession of many artifacts. We went to ...
