The owner of our hotel arranged for her brother, Lan to drive us to a different phuket port to take the ferry to Koh Phi Phi island, where they filmed the movie "The Beach", with Leonardo DiCapri... There are two islands with the main island ;"Don" being for the hotels, no motorcyles or cars, just footpaths to walk from shop to shop, over 100 shops …
Party Island Phi Phi
... the island, which is when we realised that once you were out of the melee of the town centre, the rest of the island was everything that we expected it to be!
Day 2 on Phi Phi we had arranged a boat tour out the the smaller island (where 'The Beach' was filmed) to do some snorkeling, sea kayaking, and and go to Maya Bay... This turned out the be the best day of the trip so far - Incredible!! we expected to see a few fish, there were ...
Phi Phi, Thailand
... fire, jumping through a flaming hoop, skipping on a rope that's on fire etc. It was definitely worth watching, although all the way through I was thinking how unsafe it was!! And they dropped the flaming baton several times! At the end they invited people to try it so I did the skipping rope - I made it alive!! Time for Thailand!
... mainland, one bay along from Railay beach. There was just something special about it. Photos and words just can't do this area justice.
Last night in Krabi tonight - while here, we have discovered a fantastic seafood place on the river. This evening we tucked in to grilled white snapper and grilled blue crab in curry powder. We now have lots of photos of really, really nice food.
Bangkok tomorrow. Can't wait. Bring on the ladyboys!!

The best things were a turtle feeding, black tip reef sharks and a gorgeous leopard shark resting on the bottom.
