      Hilo to Kahului to San Diego Left around 6 am. Pam got up too say goodbye and to let us out their electric gate. Turns out, it wasn't working, so she had to get Bill up to help.       We grabbed a few cookies for later, and were soon back on the road heading up to the east side of Haleakala National Park, near Hana, where I was dying to see the Bamboo Forest and The Seven Sacred Pools.       Went to Pearl Harbor and visited the USS Arizona. From there we went to the state capital. Saw the statue of King Kamehameha was really looking for Alex O'Loughlin :) No such luck. The statue looks much bigger on television than in person.
