Every adventure deserves a bit of extreme excitement. As our Hawaiian adventure draws to a close, Sheila and I decided we would do something extreme. So we signed up for a 4 hour zip lining tour with Koloa Ziplines. The tour consisted of 8 ziplines with the eighth being a 1/2 mile long (the longest in the Hawaiian Islands). We started out with our ground school at 9:00am. Our group consisted of eight people - three groups of ...

... in the Army, so Constance, John & Kathy traded marching songs, most of them really horrifying or dirty if you actually listened to them. With trembling legs we finally rounded the corner to the secret waterfall. It was SO worth it! The water was shockingly cold, but everyone braved it for an amazing swim. We explored the grounds and headed to the tiny beach shared by HBR and the St Regis Resort.

Later in the evening my son and I drove into Princeville Center (watch for that car!!!!) and ordered takeout from Fredericos Fresh Mexican Cuisine. Food and service was supreme. We were entertained by Jack Johnson-ish singer while we waited for our food.

Back at HBR we enjoyed dinner on our lanai which became our dining area for the week.

... setting and very fun. They had inner tubes, so we could float easily in the water and get used to the chilly water temperature. That didn't help Derek, though. When he sat down on his inner tube, he got flipped over and dunked in the water. It was very funny!

The other great thing about the swimming hole was that there was a place you could go cliff jumping into the water. It was only about 10 feet high, but very fun! I'd done something similar before, although it was ...
