      ... but not good enough to avoid a nighttime finish and we had to endure probably the toughest one mile of the tour so far as we headed up a steep, wooded and shoulderless hill with the commuter traffic flying home for Veteran's Day, which is a public holiday.       ... to beat the weekend traffic to Alameda. We arrived in good time and received a fantastic welcome by Larissa and Cassie.
